Stimulated

I got stimulated today and Helen had nothing to do with it. Because I am a old guy and on SS it was determined that I needed stimulated to the tune of 250.00 US dollars. We are on the road to The Escapee's rally in Sedilia, Mo and have thus far expended 112.27 in Diesel fuel. we are coiled up near St Louis with about 150 Miles to go tomorrow, well within the fuel remaining aboard. I may take Helen out to that famous Scottish restaurant up the street..Mc Donald's. May even leave a tip... Some of you may have been stimulated also.

I'm wondering if they will get us at the end of the year.

It is confusing Orv. Allegedly that 250.00 stimulus is not income for tax purposes. However retired military like yourself and retired Federal Employee's like Helen and I allegedly will also get a 250.00 "credit" on on 2009 Income tax. Will they get us for "double dipping" I , for example can not receive full SS because I receive a federal pension although I have always paid into SS for my Non Federal work and still do.
I was surprised to see the 250.00 show up. I can't make sense of it????

Wife got hers today, guess mine will take a bit longer. I'll just roll it into my quarterly estimated payment to Uncle Sam in July. They can just add it to someones stimulus package at the corporate level of GM or one of the banks.

Also found out today, for sure, That the reduction in income tax that "everyone" is seeing does not apply to retiree's. If you are getting a pension there is no reduction in tax as it has to be "earned income" and a pension is not earned income although I had to work 40 years and 7 months to earn it??????

My Army retirement check went up a bit and I turned around and increased the monthly Federal tax withholding. No sense getting zapped next April 15th.

Rich, your're the man. There is nothing more romantic than taking your lady out of town to a nice restaurant. We all could learn from your example. Oh by the way, would you like roses or some other flower during your upcoming hospital stay? After they admit you, if you can still talk, let us all know where to send the flowers. Ha, ha, ha

Sallie and I must be in a stimulus gap. We have been retired for three years and my first Social Security check won't be here until the end of next month.

I didn't get the stimulus. Another situation of "a day late and a dollar short." To get that stimulus you had to be on social security in any of three months, last Nov, Dec, or Jan. My first month of eligibility was March. First SS check was April.
