Water in fuel sensor

For 96 PSD owners unless you owned one before,
Has anybody changed there water dector sensor inside the fuel/water seperator. I was changing the filter and the insolators that let the sensor rest on the filter plate are getting kind of ratty looking. I have one on will call and will pick up after our trip and install, it looks like a simple job but if anybody has done it and has any " you better look out for---" sugestions, please clue me in before I get started.
Thanks TT2
