WASHER/DRYER CAPACITY

I'm installing a stackable Splendide washer & dryer in my SOB. Someone says, while looking at the washer, "That might wash one towel and a couple wash cloths at a time" She's not sold on the investment. I said, "I think it will do better then that". Just wondering, From those who have this setup, how much can you wash and dry at a time? Thanks, Kerry

Kerry,
You aren't off by too much, the expert (DW) says she can wash from 4-6 towels at a time (4 thick ones or 6 normal). With us four camping, the washer and dryer runs pretty much all day long, with two it shouldn't be too bad.

They work better than you would think. We have the combo (no space for the pair). I looked at them and went right to washing and drying without reading the manual closely. Ended up shrinking Joyce's socks and a shirt to a size than would only fit on a doll. More careful now days. I think you'll like them.

Kerry,
This is what they recomend in the 2100 xc owners manual pg 17.
To get you started, here are a few sample load sizes that
can go directly from wash through dry. NOTE: Data
purely indicative. Actual drying times will vary depending
on type/weight of material.
Sample Load 1
• Wash Cycle: Regular Cotton Heavy Duty/ Dry Time:
65 min.
• 2-3 Bath Towels (27” x 52” / all 100% cotton)
• 1 Hand Towel (16” x 28”)
• 1-2 Wash Cloth(s) (13” x 13”)
Sample Load 2
• Wash Cycle: Regular Cotton Heavy Duty/ Dry Time:
55 min.
• 1 Flat Sheet (90” x 102” / all 230 thread count)
• 1 Fitted Sheet (60” x 80”)
• 2 Standard Queen Pillowcases (21” x 32”)
Sample Load 3
• Wash Cycle: Regular Cotton Heavy Duty / Dry Time:
60 min.
• 1 Hand Towel (16” x 28”)
• 1 Pair Jeans (35” waist/32” inseam)
• 1 Sweatshirt (Large, 50% cotton, 50% polyester
Hope this helps

Kerry, we have the stackables in the Big Sky and I routinely wash in a load: 7 of Bob's t-shirts; a full set of king size sheets (I dry them separately, they tumble better; 2 big towels, washcloths, and hand towels. I usually wash a pair of jeans with lighter clothes, or t-shirts. You can wash 12 lbs and dry 13 lbs. I've been using the units for 3 years and love them. Well worth the investment. Tell Carol she will love them.

Consulted with the expert, and her reply was that she can wash 5-6 pairs of jeans at a time. She also says 6 pairs of shorts and 3-4 shirts at a time. We still, to this day, use the Splendide brand detergent, and DW emphatically still states that the Splendides clean better than the HE Maytag's at the house. Drying is the limiting factor in terms of time since the drying element is only 120V. Ours has been in continuous use when we are in the rig for over five years now, hoping not to jinx myself, but we have never had a problem with them. I will also add that Cathy does load the washer to the max.

Just remember that you can wash more than you can dry. I think it says that somewhere in the manual too.

Kerry, I need to edit my post. I wash each of them separately. It reads like I wash the t-shirts, sheets and towels all at the same time. Sorry!
