Hot Water problem

My HWH is working perfectly , but When I go to use the hot water anywhere in the trailer its only warm at that faucet ,but if I turn the hot water on in any of the other sinks and run them together then it get really hot as it should. I tried looking for inline check valves or anything of that nature and found nothing. I had never done this before and when I moved it the last time is when it started , Thanks

I don't understand the problem. Which faucet is only outputting warm water?

John - there are different types of water heaters installed in these units. We need to know the year and model of your RV before any helpful ideas can be shared. It sounds like you might have a Suburban Nautilus IW60 on demand water heater, but more info is needed.

The best way to explain , if I turn the shower on hot it’s only warm . But if I turn the sink on hot also and have them running together than the water is as hot as it should be .

To me it sounds like an "On Demand" type, and possibly one faucet doesn't great sufficient flow to kick it on, while two or more draw sufficient flow to make it function as it should.

Make sure your outside shower faucets are both off (hot and cold valves). If they are on (and no hose connected) they act like a mixing valve and the cold dilutes your hot water in the pipes.

John - most likely that your unit does NOT have an on-demand water heater. It would be the standard electric/gas unit, therefore the issue is not related to lack of adequate water flow.

Since your water heater is most likely the Atwood or Dometic then on the backside of the water heater at the OUTLET side is a check valve.. it will usually be brass but could be plastic..

Turn water heater off and let it cool down and then drain the water heat and remove that check valve from the outlet side and see if the check valve is sticking...

It sounds like it opens more when you have two faucets open thus increasing volume flow ...

I could also just be wasting your time with this suggestion but based on your inputs its where I would start...

Also make sure you dont have the outside water shower or rinse station water valves open as this will also cause odd issues with your hot water

Thank you , I didn’t realize the brass pieces were check valves . I’ll check those out . And I have made sure the hot and cold knobs at the outside were off.

Only the top brass nipple is a check valve. That is where the hot water exits the tank, and the check valve is there so the water heater can be bypassed when winterizing with the one valve in the convenience center. We full time, and besides replacing the anode once a year, I also drain and flush the tank a couple more times a year to remove debris from the anode that tends to clog the check valve.

Might sound like a dumb answer but when I first got my used trailer, the shower hot also seemed to be more like luke warm. I noticed later that the water heater bypass valve was open, closed it and then the shower water was hot, very hot. Can't explain why some faucets had hot water and the shower didn't.

Ours had the same problem this last year and we found out that the main shower knob was turned on. I turned it to the off position and everything worked again. The wife had taken a shower and shut the water off at the shower head and didn’t turn the knob off. I hope this helps.

There are 2 water outlets that can set up a cross feed between hot and cold water. 1) the shower mixer valve - make sure it's turned off when you're finished showering. 2) the water outlet in the outside convenience center - make sure bout valves are turned off.

Check the bypass control...If the bypass isn't in the correct position you are drawing water from both lines.
