Finally was able to install my steering box stabilizer and rear airbags today. This should complete what I’ve wanted to do for know.

Looks nice! Which airbag set up did you go with? I`m contemplating whether to buy a complete kit, or build the kit myself, as that tends to be a little cheaper route, and I can get the parts I want,NOT what they think I want.

What is a "steering box stabilizer" and why is it needed on a new truck?

I went with Air Lift 5000 plus, I’ve used these bags on 3 truck now and have been happy. These bags have an internal joist in them.

What it does is stabilize the steering box shaft by giving another contact point an helps elevate the moment that causes most of the wondering on these HD Ram Trucks. I install this on my 2500 and it made such a noticeable differance it’s unbelivable. It’s made the same differance on my 3500, it bolts in the frame under your swaybar and as see the added bearing. You remove the shaft nut and install another big nut type that has a machines end that goes into the bearing and the bearing has 2 allen screws that tighten to the machined shaft. It works very well.

If you install air bags get the compressor as well. Makes airing up the bags easy from inside the cab. Nothing like having to air them up in the rain.
