First timers, pickup on Friday - 3950BR
Howdy all,
Si & Chelle here from Raleigh, NC. After a year of research we pick up our Montana 2017 3950BR on Friday.
We have read a great deal of info on this forum over the past few days, so thanks for your valuable insights. YouTube has also helped take the mystery out of what to expect.
We got to the Montana, via Sandpiper, Bay Hill, Grand Design & Jayco. Now we have our check list, and following your advice we will take our time examining it before we drive it off the lot.

Take your time and find everything. Do not drive it off the lot with any issues expecting keystone to rapidly fix any issues after the deal is final.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
We are now making a list of things to potentially buy once we pick it up on Friday.
Our list so far:
Physical security (kingpin lock, locking chocks)
Electrical security (surge protectors)
Dogbones
Pressure regulator and drinking water hose.
Sewer hose and sidewinder support.
Wheel and RV cover.
If there is anything you think we should consider, please let us know.

Welcome from Arizona. The dealer should provide you with a starter kit. Sewer hose, 50Amp power cord maybe a water hose. But before you sign the papers get them to though in as much as you can.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new rig. Good starting list, but I would forego the king pin lock. We bought one and have never given one thought to even getting it out of the package.

Mission Accomplished.
PDI (5hrs) went very well, only minor cosmetic items to address. Nerve racking first drive back through a storm passing over Raleigh today, but thankfully the journey was incident free. Some pics, leaving and final destination over looking our Mill.

Nice Pictures! I hope you have better luck than I had with Danville's crooked RV007. They are rather unscrupulous if that is where you bought it. They among many other things told me my Diesel Pusher I was buying was Barn Stored and thus in perfect condition. What they meant is, it was used commercially and pulled heavy horse trailers to every show in the USA with no maintenance. After your warranty is over there is a great place in Ringold that does a good job on any RV. Countryside RV is the name. They were great to me for many years. They do not sell RVs just do great service.

As far as electrical protection many recommend the Progressive EMS HW50C, I love mine.
As a side note, I use my pin lock all the time, it just makes me feel better.

Can a shakedown go too well?
We camped on our land, which we are planning on turning into a very small private park in the not too distant future.
We closed up some areas under the unit, and put some clear silicone around the top of the shower unit. We also closed the holes in the bathroom and kitchen where the pipes enter the cabinets, and we did lose one screw on the wheel arch moldings so I stuck some silicone on the backs of them.
So far so good…

Suggest a 30 amp pigtail/converter for those times you use 30amp. Also..a 50 amp extension cord. We have used both very often!

May also want to upgrade to 2 6v batteries...esp if dealer gave you 1 12v battery.
