New Orleans

Can anyone recommend a campground in New Orleans. I have been looking on line but so confused. One that looks nice reviews not so much. Some say they are in a bad area. Thanks for any information you can give me.

We stayed at a State Park just Southwest of the city last year. Actually, it was only a few miles to the French Quarter. Nice park, It was Bayou Segenette.

I will look at that. Just worried about the length of our rig. Thank you for the information.

X2 with Mont77. Beautiful park Just be aware no sewer hookup We were there 10 days mid March. Do not think length of rig would be a problem

Ok I have a question for those that drove into NO
Where did you park? When we’ve been in a car the parking was bad and expensive!

We parked down along the waterfront. I have a Dually and didn’t have any problem. That was in 2017.

We spent a week there last October. Stayed at Park D'Orleans which definitely is located in a "seedy area." There were a lot of full timers. The owner lives on the property, which is a bonus. We had zero issues, and although the park certainly was NOT a resort, we felt safe enough to walk the dog at night. People were friendly, and the price was right. Only takes cash or check.

Parked along the waterfront in French Quarter. Be careful as there is "Preferred" parking which was very expensive. "Standard" parking was more reasonable, just have to find a spot.

The French Quarter RV Park is great if you want to be within walking distance of the French Quarter. Very nice sites. Expensive. The elevated I-10 roadway runs past the end of the park. Ear plugs solve the noise problem.

I currently live in St Bernard which is about 18 miles outside of NO proper. I work in the downtown core and it takes me only 25 minutes to get in. I would highly recommend Fanz Mobile Home Estates and RV Park.

https://www.visitstbernard.com/listi...k#.WMVci1XythE

I have lived there 2 years with zero problems and the rates are far better then nearer to NO. They take long and short term visitors. I am living in my Motorhome at the moment until I retire to my 3950 which is parked in Florida.

I can advise you were to park also as the rates are outrageous in NO. Drop me a PM and I can share with you.

WiFi Question

We're thinking about spending a week or so in NO and we are wondering about parks with usable WiFi. I don't stream anything but email and web browsing are a must and I prefer not to have to hot spot if possible.

Additional question: does AT&T work well there on the Cell Phone?

I'm leaning toward staying at the KOA but WiFi could be a plan changer. I'm not retired and the internet is a must for business.

TIA

DW and I have been using these sites for several years. All campgrounds are in a secure location - on a military base - and have armed guards at the gate. Here's the website for military bases all over the US. http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/ Click on Recreation Facilities, then USA Map and state listing, then click on the state listing - below the map . go directly to the right page with this: http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/lo...nas-campground. They allow Active, National Guard, Reservists, Retired, 100% DAV, DoD civilians.
Enjoy!!
