Check all your breakers in the electric panel. If that don't work try it on propane.

Tried the breakers, the propane is full (if we wanted to run propane)...we thought maybe it had something to do with our site not being 100% level, but we have stayed in much more awkward places with no trouble at all.

You have done the preliminary checks now call Dometic customer support at 1-800-544-4881 and explain your situation directly to the manufacturer.

I had a problem with mine a few weeks ago, turns out the fridge was on the GFI circut in the Kitcen, and one of them was triped, reset it , and it worked fine. If the Auto light does not even come on, it sounds like a problem with either the control board, or the 12v power supply to the fridge. The fridge has a constant power supply from the 12v system running to it, which runs the control board. This feature enables it to operate on Propane when not hooked up to electric. If you go outside, youd should be able to access behind your fridge. There are fuses back there for the 12v system, I would check those as well.

We seen this same problem about a mouth ago Steve Reigle said to check to see if it was plugged in and it wasn't or was it the breaker. Are you trying to run it on 120v or gas, if gas you might have air in the line. Keep in touch we all might be able to help. Happy Camping Larry & LaVonne

I think the control panel runs off 12v so check the fuses on the converter, also. And make sure you have a functional battery.

I have also heard that you need charged up batteries for the refrigerator to work. Let us know what you find the problem to be. Thanks for the post.

Thanks everyone for your advice. We finally got it figured out!

We could not get the "auto" light to come on for nothing; the only indicator if our efforts were worth anything other than waiting it out to see if frig was going to cool:
1. Played with those two little buttons on the control panel like it was an arcade game--nothing--no light
2. then turned everything off and checked the GFI--reset them--no light
3. checked the breaker--reset it--nothing
4. looked at the frig fuse on the panel inside but did not pull it--it was good
5. pulled the outside panal off to make sure it was plugged in--tried again--nothing
6. then turned everything off (shore power) and tried to get the gas to kick in-nothing
7. finally, before going through the pain of moving the trailer around to ensure it being even (it wasn't far off center on the level's bubble) we pulled the fuse on panel inside and got a check light, only initially, then nothing--great!--then with the "power" button in the "on" position the whole time pressed the "gas" button to the "on" position--the "auto" light came on and gas kicked in--re-connected to shore power--gas kicked off--"auto" light stayed on and been good since.

We guess the fuse wasn't making a good contact in it's slot because it's intact otherwise.

We are not very impressed with the electrical system in our Montana. We're very suspicious of our AC unit tripping its breaker as it has done this three times on two different trips. It makes us very nervous when we have the dogs in the trailer for a duration time-to-time while we are out and about....

Again, thanks to everyone who helped us out.

Montana had a problem with the 12 volt fuse panel in 04. It seems that the connector lugs in the panel were changed by its manufacturer without telling Keystone. The new lugs were smaller than the old one so the clips on the wiring harness slip off real easy. I beleive there was a message sent by Keystone to all Montana dealers about this. My dealer replaced all of the clips the day before we picked up out unit. All except the one for the furnace. First time out we froze but thats a different story. Check the clips behind the 12 volt panel. They should not come off easily.

Little Rascal,
If your airconditioner unit is tripping breakers I'd suggest checking the Shore Power to be sure it is up to snuff. I've found at several parks that the AC voltage was below 110 volts especially when other coaches were also running their airconditioners. When you have low voltage your airconditioner draws more current (amps) in order acheive the same power (Watts). (Watts = Volts X amps) We installed a Hughes Autoformer and have had no more problems with breakers tripping. This will also protect the compressor motor on the airconditioner from early failure.

Little Rascal, just for reference, I don't think being offlevel would keep the fridge from working. If you are very far offlevel and not moving, that's not good for it but it would still work. Just for future reference.
