EMS-PT50X lock suggestion

For those of you who are using the EMS-PT50X external surge protector, what kind of lock setup/configuration do you have?

I use a cable lock like this:

Mine is a bit longer which allows me to wrap it around the power pole and take advantage of any fixture which help keeps it from being removed. That said, most of my camping buddies don't lock down their portable EMS devices. We never have had a problem in over 10 years of camping in lots of private or public parks. I do believe just the presence of a cable lock deters the casual thief. The determined one will get it regardless of what you do.

Thanks Carl. It's primarily to keep a honest person honest. I've got to also get something like that for my Tailgator sat dish.

I just use a big mother chain with hardened padlock.

I often simply lock the pedestal cover itself with a padlock, so it cannot be unplugged and removed. Most covers have a built in hasp.

I also use a cable lock and wrap it around pedestal twice if I can. Use the cable lock to secure bikes on back of trailer when traveling between RV spots. Most people don't secure their surge protectors in the campgrounds. I don't trust the general public to keep their hands off.

The DW went to Wally World and got a Kryptonite Kryptoflex keyed cable lock. I believe this will be perfect for our needs.

We been using the PT 50C f or 12 years and have not locked it, chained it or secured it to anything. We have stayed in countless Campgrounds and traveled over 100K miles across the country.I can see it now blinking away on our Florida lot unsecured as usual.

I will add that in near 25 years of Rv'ing we have never had anything taken or have personally known anyone who has. Of course anything can happen to anyone at anytime.

I agree with Rich. Never had anything stolen but I do have a short 3 foot chain and a pad lock. Just in case.

We also haven't had anything stolen in 8 years of full timing, partly because we use a big chain and hardened padlock

However, I believe Superman could still break this lock!
