Recent gps suggestions

My Magellan 7 inch screen gps has started to give me wrong info when I go to get back onto interstate 75 after a diesel fuel stop. It will tell me to go the opposite direction that I know I have to go, then a minute later will tell the truth. So I am that it is time to retire the old unit and go new. Thinking rand McNally unit or Garmin rv770lmt7. Inputs anyone?

Had a Rand McNally for 7 years and just replaced it with another Rand McNally.

Have a Garmin. It is okay. Even with current maps, it was off on speed limits. Otherwise I like it.

Our Magellan has been doing that for years. We know to not always believe the first directions given. It helps to have a good idea of where you need to go as well.

Have you updated the maps lately? That might help.

Our Garmin does the same thing. For some reason it does not want you to backtrack. As long as we remember which way we are going we just ignore it and it catches up pretty fast.

Our Garmin 770 has the same issues, we just updated it yesterday, it took 2.5 hours, hopefully it will do better.

Today's project is to do an update, although I have doubt that it will cure the issue...but doesn't cost anything but time since the unit has lifetime updates.

I have the Garmin 760. I like the life time map updates, unlike the nav system in my Silverado. GM wants $150.00 for updates that are several years old. Plus Garmin manufactures Navigation systems, chart plotter, radar, etc. for boats. They've been in the navigation business for decades...
