Welcome home lights

We have just got our 3440 two weeks ago and love this beast, The only thing that is a problem so far is the welcome home lights that come on when you open the door, Does anyone know how to disable this feature. When the kids are sleeping on the couch bed the lights come on when we open the door. Great feature just not good if you can' turn them off.

A lot of folks have disconnected/by-passed the switch on the door frame so the lights don't come on any more at all. You could also wire in a second switch and mount it on the wall next to the door and use it as an on/off switch so you can disable the lights when they are not required.

That's the ticket. Look for a pressure switch on the lower hinge side of the door.

Since I seldom use the main 12V ceiling lights anyways ... I just turn the switch off on the fixture itself in the ceiling except for the light right in front of the entry door. New Montanas may not be able to turn the ceiling lights off individually anymore

I like my welcome home lights but I would also like to have had an other switch by the door that would override the spring switch mounted in the hinge side of the door frame.
