Texas must wait

Sorry to say, but it looks like Texas will miss us this year. DW (Karen) has had a medical set-back and is in ICU for a while. While shopping at Wal-Mart Monday night, she started feeling bad. Had a bad pain in her upper back and couldn't catch her breath. The staff was very professional and kind, got an ambulance in short order, and we transported her to the local Hospital. Somehow, her left lung has collapsed and is not responding well to treatment. Surgery may be in her very near future. She was already on tap for another surgical procedure that must now be put on hold. We may make it down some time this winter but in a few days I will have to cancel our reservations. Must kiss the deposit good-bye but that is a small price to pay. All prayers gratefully accepted. Bob

Bob, so sorry to hear that Karen is having problems.. Our prayers are with you both. I think if it was going to happen, it was probably better to happen at your home close to family and your local hospital and doctors. I hope all goes well and look forward to seeing you down there in Feburary, thats when we will go back. Keep us posted on how Karen is doing.
safe travels my friend John

Dear Folks;

You are both in our prayers up here in Maine. We are praying that God will give the doctor's wisdom and a skill beyond their own experience. And, that healing will be quick, without much pain, and complete. Take care.

We understand fully how plans can be so suddenly interupted. Each of us are so much more fragile than we think. Yet, through the prayful support of friends and even acquaintances, we are strengthened. I pray God will surround you both with a host of helpers and give you his confidence and hope.

Bob & Karen,
Our prayers are with you and for you for a quick recovery. We just don't know why these things happen but we continually put our lives in His hands. Keep your spirits up and let us know how things proceed.

Thank you to all. Karen is not progressing as well as the Dr had hoped. The initial expectation of 2-3 days in ICU is now starting to look like weeks. They have managed to get her pain down to a more bearable level at the cost of awarness. Hope to have her back from La-La Land soon. Starting to miss her. I will keep your prayers close to my heart and share them with her. Bless you all. Bob

Bob & Karen,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We certainly understand changes in travel plans. As I type this I am back in Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, getting some repair done on the incision from my brain surgery last July which forced us to cancel our travel plans for the fall rally. Our prayers will be that you get great medical care and will soon be back in you wheel estate enjoying your travel.

When we least expect it life throws us a curve ball. Keep the faith as we trust Karen is in good hands and on her way to a speedy recovery.
