Home Theater
Our piece of junk home theater quit after 4 months of being replaced. It has only played 2 DVD's. What is a reasonably priced recommended replacement for it.

I went to Costco and bought a $200 complete home theatre system, ((Panasonic) the dvd player / amp fit perfectly and it came with an ipod dock. works much better than the oem player. I gave the panasonic speakers to my nephew. Also found out my flat screen was wired incorectly fromt the factory. It was not hooked up to the HDMI input or the sound output to the dvd player / amp. Now the picture is better and the sound is greatly improved. Kept the oem speakers.

Don and Mary, I got rid of my K-Mart special not long after getting my unit. I installed a Yamaha AV Receiver, RX-V661 and a Samsung, upconvert DVD R 155 along with the Bose cube speakers. The Receiver is a 7.1. I installed two of the cubes over the couch under the rear window and left the two in the main slide, (will change these out eventually). The holes for the cubes in the ent center had to be filed out to accommodate the slightly larger Bose. Sub woofer went behind the 32” digital HD TV we installed. We also had the 5 LNB oval dish installed on top of trailer and run DirectTV.
We full time and wanted a “Primo System” which I feel we now have. We had to reinforce the top shelf in the ent ctr and the bottom shelf also. TV was mounted on a swing out arm and is held down by strapping from the rear when we travel. I also had to install an exhaust fan in the top cabinet to help dissipate the heat.
This may be more than you wanted to do but just showing the possibilities. We went with a 720p TV as the Direct Receiver and the Samsung DVD both upconvert to 1080p.
And to think, they call this camping. I don’t think so. lol

We were at Best Buy today and we picked up a Panasonic SC-PT660 home theater for $250 on sale.I will have to cut the ends off the speaker wires and add them to the speaker wires in the 5th wheel and think about using the Panasonic Speakers after as they are bigger then the stock ones.

We also bought the Panasonic 660 somewhere around June, installed it and we are very happy with it. We also kept the old speakers and spliced them in. I would say we have probally played 30 movies between us and the grandchildren with out a moments trouble. Very satisfied Chuck

I installed the Panasonic this afternoon and it seems to work properly after I got the wiring straightened out. It sure is sound away better then the Quest. We will enjoy watching a lot more DVD's without worrying if the machine is going to work or not.

Yep, another satisfied Panasonic 660 owner! Bought and installed after our 2nd Quest died about a month after installation. Don is right that it's nice to watch a movie without waiting for the DVD player to die. Gave the speakers to our son and he's happy, too.
