No, I didn't explain it too well, the ring is welded to the bottom of the bracket I built.
The cradle fits right under the U-Bolt to lift the axle.

I do not know how to do this so Please bear with me, I would like to have one of those jacks and brackets you made. I am living in mine full time and do not plan on moving or traveling in it for about another 4 years, but I would like to have that jack and bracket just in case.
How do I pay for it? should I PM you? Or how does this work?
On and by the way obviously there is absolutely no hurry at all.
Maybe others will order or you can wait to make mine, until you have other orders if you like, it is entirely up to you.

Based on what you said the safe place to jack is under the u-bolt and not the axle, Correct?

Dave, are you close to a Harbor Freight? The shipping on the bottle jack would be high, so you can pick one up close to you, Sears maybe...
I keep various sizes of 2x4 and 4x4 blocks, plywood spacers to be adaptable for different types of terrain.
My opinion is that if you jack up under the U-bolt, the weight will transfer through the U-bolt area, axle and frame.
Give Sue your email address and she will invoice you, pay through that invoice to Paypal with your credit card, I will have to figure the weight, so it may be a while.

Big Dave: I see you have the 6 Point Level-up system on your 3750. With that feature you don't really need no stinkin' jack to change a tire. Use the Level-up to raise the wheels off the ground.Be sure to loosen the lug nuts before you raise it though

Rainer, we have the same rig, mine arrived with PowerKing, TowMax tires, I have about 10,000 miles on them, they are still China bomb material, I don't think its the weight, or the inflation, they are just junk tires from China, cheap to buy and would probably last a long time on a rig that does 500 miles a year. Mine are being replaced this week, with a LT, just trying to figure out which ones. And I agree with the previous post, you (and I) took delivery from a dealer and someone that delivered it from Indiana may have pulled these trailers at 80 miles an hour, damage could have been done before you ever took ownership, and just never knew it.

Ozz your axle support for the hydraulic jack is very similar to one I built when I bought my first larger trailer, I used 3 HD muffler clamps on a 6 x 4 piece of plate with the pipe on the bottom to fit over the screw end of my hydraulic jack. That gave me 6 points of contact on the axle and spread the weight out over the 6". Still carry it, and never used it. I now use the 6 point level up to handle any tire situation.

It is a sad testament to the RV industry that a Class action suit is even contemplated. Most manufacturers put ST tires on their units, beyond cost I think there are other reasons for this. Sadly when we remove the Marathons from our large Montana's and put on "G" rated tires we are putting them on rims made in China, which are stamped with a weight rating of 3750 lbs @ 110 psi. I would much rather be putting those "G" rated tires on a rim rated for a fair bit more than that. Sadly we are stuck with what is available to keep up the appearance of our units.

Beyond rims, Tredit also sell tires. If you look on their website you will see they sell 8 Radial ply tires and 5 bias ply tires, they are all made offshore. Some are rated higher than the Marathon we are most accustomed to seeing but certainly may not be any better.

As has been documented on this and other forums, the tires are only one of the problems. presumably because of the ever increasing attempts to make these units bigger and lighter. The manufacturers of tires, wheels frames and so on are supported financially in not only the supply of the initial product, but support continues to some of those same industries in selling aftermarket products to beef up their obviously inferior initial design.

Where will things go from here, it will be interesting to see the progression which might be altered with a successful lawsuit. May be difficult but as Rainer suggests, certainly not impossible.

Funny thing is the Tow Max ST235/85R16 is rated at 3520 lbs as opposed to the Marathon at 3420. Guess it isn't any better. I have a friend who is now heading coast to coast in Canada then down the US eastern seaboard to Florida and back over to Yuma later in the winter, he has Tow Max tires on his SOB that has a GVWR of 15,300 lbs. Can't wait to see how it goes for him.

As I mention earlier, our TowMax have 10,000 miles on them and look like new, but...........I only gamble so much. So off they come this week, I have a contractor, that will buy them for his around town equipment trailers. I will enjoy the peace of mind :-)

Stopped by two tire dealers today, doing some pricing. Talked to owners of both places. Both said the same thing. "On these heavy and long 5th wheels, 90% of the time, the tire that fails, has clipped a curb or stump or other object. This damage is not seen, but the writing is on the wall, and a failure may occur in the future". Says something about taking wider turns. Anyone in this group every clipped something with a tire? Raise you hand, consider my hand raised.

I will agree. Clipping a curb might damage a tire, but not that it will damage the tire. If damage was certain,there would be legislation in place making it mandatory to replace a tire that has clipped a curb.
