awning question

How does one keep the rain water from pooling on the slide out awnings? It seems that our awning on the door side keeps letting the water puddle there. Any info would be helpful..Richard

Don't have any slide awnings but a friend puts a volley ball under the awning and pushes it into the center. Lifts the center just enough to prevent pooling.

We just let it puddle, eventually it dries or the wind comes along and moves the awnings around and out comes the water. Have not noticed a problem with mold or anything like that. That said, we have never stayed in a rain forest for months on end. Thank goodness for that! HA HA As the water dries, the spring tension in the slide toppers kicks in and tightens up the awning. So, we handle by not handling.

I agree with Carol. We just let it pool and what the wind doesn't blow off or the sun evaporate will run off when we next retract the slides. The potential problem is standing in the wrong place when the water pours off the topper. It happened to me just once. I learn quickly.

Sometimes I think my wife waits until I'm in that perfect position to dump the water right down the back of my pants !!! I too learned the hard way and move quickly now !!
