Black and Grey Tank Controls Reversed
Have any of you experienced issues with your Black and Grey Tank controls reversed?
We did get out very much in 2020/2021, so we didn't really 'notice' this issue. However, recently we had a full Grey tank (water not draining from shower). We opened the Grey tank several times to no avail. Didn't dawn on me that controls would be switched. It took us 2 hours to trouble shoot the issue then we removed the undercover to actually see the cable connections to each tank thinking it broke away from the tank. Sure enough you pull the Grey Tank control, it opened the Black tank.

If that were the case on my rigs I'd just take the wall off the convienence center and reverse them. Have no experience with new rigs so I don't know if it's still the same.

The easier solution would be to just re-label the two handles in the convenience center.

That's what I'd do too!

I have '22 3231ck, on mine I can access the back of the panel. On the front of the panel, remove the handles and the nuts holding the cables in place, then pull them out the back, reinstall in the correct holes.
Or paint the handles, black/gray.

Hello Lee-CI, thanks for the welcome. I don't know much, but happy to share what I can. I emptied tanks today, and verified- I have one black one an one gray one. At the time I typed that, I couldn't remember for sure if that where the idea came to me from. As I get older, memories become like RV salesmen, really hard to pin down as to what's actually what.

Experienced that on two of our Montana units. Like posted above, just remarked the handles.

I’m pretty sure you also have a second gray tank usually called a galley tank and might find that handle in front or behind the drivers side tires up high possibly at the frame. Just because the ‘specs’ only show one gray tank capacity does not mean you only have one gray tank.

Yes, thanks, that one doesn't need emptied as often. Good because it not as easy to get too.

My 2019 3731FL had same issue. Just switch the labels.

On an older coach, the black PVC line dump line was nearly double in diameter the size of the gray line.

I have found a lablemaker to be a requirement with Keystone. I had a Cougar and now a Montana HC and both had lable issues with the tanks and switches.

Or like in our case, the label for the galley gray tank dump handle being over 3 feet away from the actual location for the valve..... took a while to locate the little booger the first time

I have same issue. Can’t believe there was never a recall for this problem. Big bad on the manufacturer. I relabeled sensor panel and pull handles. Only problem is hose hookup for black tank clean out is actually on the grey tank. So no convenient way to blow out black tank. Again bad on Montana.

I also have that lever at the wheels and the label on the body panel saying grey tank. I bought this new in January but only got to use it a few weeks ago. Nothing seemed to have gone in it, so I assumed it may be for the washer that is not installed yet. Haven't been able to find anything on it as of yet, if anyone knows about this third tank that is not listed in the specs.

What goes to this 3rd tank? I also have one. The spec sheets don't list it or at least the ones I have seen.

Normally you will have two grey tanks - one for the bathroom sink /shower as well as another for the galley (kitchen) tank. The handle for our galley tank is just forward of the driver's side front axle. The label for the tank is supposed to be right above the handle so as to help locate it, but the label was way off where it should have been.

The specs do not list "tanks" per-se, but capacities. You should have 2 gray tanks for the total capacity listed. Mine lists 88 gallons of gray water. One tank is the shower and bathroom sink, the other is the kitchen or galley sink.
Each tank is 44 gallons, as confirmed by filling with a flow through water meter.

The 3rd tank on your 3121RL is for the kitchen sink.
