Final update on city water connection

Looks like many here were right! We had hooked up to the wrong connection, we had hooked up to black water tank connection. Camping World was VERY condescending towards us and we will not go back there. We did have the run through with the tech with the RV purchase but he was late with the appt. and there was a lot to go over! We are not stupid and previously owned a travel trailer. The connections are not clearly labeled and the owners manual is very generic. There has got to be a better way? The tech was nice and he said if we would have called before we brought the RV in, well, we sure did! Oh well, lesson learned!

Advice and comments on this forum are generally pretty accurate.

Don't feel bad. The reason many of us knew the answer is because we either have done that before or have caught ourselves about to do it. That's what the forum is here for. If you could go back to one of my first posts on the forum, I was in a panic because most of my electrical had failed. The battery disconnect was mentioned and I was red faced, but good to go. These are complicated beasts.

Bummer that you had a bad experience with camping world. Glad to know that you are good to go now. At least your experience wasn't as bad as an rv'r at the park where we are in the winter in florida. He actually got the poo to flow up his vent, out onto the roof, and down the sides of his fifth wheel. He was really embarrassed and got a lot of poking from his neighbors. Whatever you have to do to label your fresh water input on your rig to make it clear to you is what you should do. John

I hooked up a 3 foot white water hose and I leave it hooked up. When I unhook I just fold up the hose and leave it in the station. This works well and I do not have a leak at the hose connector at the station. The other thing is when hooking up water I do not have to think which connector to use and put it in the wrong connector.

Owning a Rv is a ongoing learning experience. There are many here including myself who have made the mistakes and are happy to give others the benefit of that experience. We have learned a lot from this forum and still do most every day.

Chalk it up to lesson learned. I must add this comment. Camping World cannot be condescending as they are a company. An individual employed by Camping World was condescending and perhaps you should have reported their attitude to management thereby perhaps saving some of us from dealing with the sorry individual.

Lynnz, I feel your pain. When we traded our 2008 Montana for our current one Lazy Days had a person do the walk-around with us. I am pretty sure that was this person's only job, he knew about everything there was to know about our model.

As we traveled throughout the next couple weeks I discovered I had retained about 1/3 of the information he provided on the new unit.
