50 amp plug

I'm looking for the 50 amp plug. I want to make an adapter that will mate with a 3 prong 15 amp recepticle extension cord, for use at home. Low current just for refridge, Batt charger, and lights when we return from trips.

Thanks for reading this

It's a marine plug. I would think you could get it at a marine supply but they're pretty high. It may be better in the long run to get one of the stubs from CW or equiv.

We purchased a 50 - 30 plug from CW. It is about 12" long and has the marine adapter on the 50 amp end. Pricey though. We use it with out 30 amp cable as it is much lighter. At home we use a 30 - 15 adapter to keep lights etc.

Our dealer gave us a 50A / 15A adapter when we bought the trailer. It does the job very well.

As with Bill & Ann, we also purchased a 50A/30A cable (25-ft model) from Camping World. It sure beats lugging the 50A cable around, when you do not need to run the air conditioner.

I run my air conditioner with my replacement 30 amp cord. Seems to work just fine, of course I dont have on much other things drawing juice. I also have a voltage meter pluged into one of my outlets, and try to keep an eye on the gauge, if it goes into the red, I just trun of more stuff.
