Brighter lights on the cheep
Today I did an old trick I had on my previous Travel Trailers. The stop, turn, brake lights on our units can be improved for a few cents and about a half hour of your time. I had some Suretape, which is a bright aluminum foil faced tape with a peal off back about the size of duct tape. In fact I have some heavy duty aluminized duct tape out in the shed, but the Suretape had more shine to it. I pulled the lens off and covered the white plastic background with the tape. I did one light then hooked up the umbilical to the truck and put the 4 way flashers on. The light I modified was noticeably brighter, so I did the other one. Then as an experiment I did one of the two basement lights. Same results. I didn't have my long ladder with me as I think I'll also do the scare lights, which I think are too anemic to begin with plus the cheep junk metal is already rusting so I'll refinish them while I'm at it.

I done mine a couple of years ago when I made the side markers blink with the turning signals. This helps when going down an interstate or in tight traffic changing lanes (just like the big trucks). I also found that if you wrinkle the tape instead of having it smooth, it seems to reflect a little brighter.... Just my own opinion...JB
