For my truck, 80hp tune is the upper limit for the stock tranny reliability. Most heavy (over 8000lbs.) tow tunes are around 40hp over stock.

just to add to this... i have a 2006 2500HD diesel, averages about 9.8-10 mpg when pulling 3400. around town 12-14. pure highway 17-20mpg.

i don't like the lack of power when going up mountains....responds like my old gas truck. great on flat road though....

want to buy a F350 some day.

Which engine do you have? Our 2006 is the LBZ model, and it lacks nothing going up hills - in fact we passed a lot of folks going through the Rockies.
