Open RV Camps Nov trip Ohio to Arizona

We are looking to make our first "head south for the winter" trip next month. Going to travel Cleveland, Louisville, Memphis, Little Rock, Dallas, Tucson and Phoenix. Anyone have any recommendations on places to stay, seems a lot of camps shut doors on October 15th. We only like to drive 4-5 hours tops a day, then relax and enjoy the new sights.

Also - any places you had a really bad experience that we should avoid?

DFW

For Dallas Fort Worth I cant say enough good things about The Vineyards at Grapevine. Also have had pleasant stays at Traders Village in Arlington. Both are located between dallas and Fort Worth in case you want to explore DFW.

As you travel south you will find most parks open with full services.

Last year in February we traveled north, , to Elkhart, IN.
We found campgrounds open, but had their water shut off.
So, start with fresh water in your tank.

Traveling I-40 we have stayed at these:

Parkers Crossroads, TN - Parkers Crossroads RV Park

Memphis, TN - Agricenter International RV Park

Hazen, AR - Lower White River RV Park

For me, I would try to schedule my travels to NOT stop in Memphis.
It has too many people!

Hope this helps,

The Escapee park in Deming,NM is a good place to stop for an overnight or a visit to Mexico. The Puma Co. Fairgrounds in Tuscon is also a place we stop since it is sometimes hard to find an open campground in the spring in Tucson.
