New Florida Home

Things sure can change in an instant it seems. We were toying with the idea of moving to Florida at least for the winter. Stopped at a realty office for information. Three days later, our house is sold, lock, stock and barrel. So we started sorting thru the some 100 listings we had pulled up on line and started our search. We returned from Florida to Michigan the 17th, the proud owners of a new house in Inverness, Florida, complete with 3 bedrms, Den, 2 1/2 car garage and bathrooms, aaannnddd, 16 by 36 in ground enclosed pool. We are so excited we can't stand it. We close the 14th of February and will rent our own house back for two months, until the campground opens, then will move into the Monty for the summer, then in October will be official Floridians. With Family here in Michigan, we will continue to live in the Monty in summer at the campground with our band. Also, everyone keep in touch, we have an RV hook up on the lot in Florida also. It is only 30 amp, but will still be very useful I'm sure. No more snowblowing for this kid after this year. Happy Trails everyone---Steve and Susie

That is what we do New Home in Englewood Fl and Camp in the Pittsburgh Area.We think a home is a better investment now that we are on a fixed income rather then an RV and TV at our age.We are on a permanent site now

Congratulations Steve and Susie,
Ronda had shown me the pics of the new house on FB.
I remember this past summer you knew you may be making a change but this came out of left field I thought
Sounds like a great way to retire I hope to do the same in a few years.
Maybe we will be able stop by to see you this summer in Michigan before you head south.

Cheers

Inverness is a very nice area. We ride bikes on the Withlacoochee Trail often. Hopefully you dodged the flood insurance fiasco. Welcome to paradise.

Any truth to the rumor that due to adverse weather conditions, people in Florida go north for the summer?

Friends of ours sold their house up north 2 years ago and bought a new place in Cape Coral. They have a new 41' Toy Hauler that they travel up north in during the summer to see kids and grandkids. Now they are putting a 4-sale sign in the yard because they want to go full time in their fiver. I think when we are done pushing the rig down the road we will look at a stick house in Florida and fiver up north for visits. Congrats and enjoy the new digs!

Well with the help of some wonderful Friends, two trailers are about half loaded. The two trailers and truck will be on the road a week from today headed south to the new house. Will be there about a week and a half, then back for the remaining loads. What a job we got ourselves into, but still looking forward to getting this move over with and enjoying some warmer temperatures. Yesterday it snowed pretty good all day, so had to keep sweeping off the ramps, just not a lot of fun, but getting it done little by little here.

Good evening everyone. Arrived in warm and sunny Florida Wednesday afternoon with two trucks and trailers, minus 3 blowen tires. Stressful trip to say the least, but now partly unloaded and in the new house and loving every minute of it. will return to Michigan first part of next month and finish emptying the house and bring the last of everything down. Will pass on more information, when I get rested up a little. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

Good morning all, from snowy Michigan for the last load. Susie is such a trooper, everything in the first two trailer and truck loads is all put away and we are loading up the last load now and will turn over the keys Monday afternoon and be on the road back south. We love the new house, and lil' Susie loves the pool. We weren't there two hours and she was in it. Not for long tho, as the solar panels were not working, so now there is a dandy heat pump on the pool, and temp is 83. We have special Friends that lived two miles down the road from us in Michigan, and were in Florida snowbirding, so they offered to stay at the new house with lil' Susie while we got this last load. That was very nice and save the 6 year old another trip back and forth. She sent a note back to her old teacher and class mates, says she goes to school by the pool in her bathing suit, and takes a dip during recess--lol. Thanks for all the great well wishes for our trips and huge change, we are still excited, although a bit more tired now than when we started. Happy Trails everyone.

What heat pump did you go with? We are in the same boat, so to speak.

And, even though the move was stressful and a lot of work, you saved a ton of money. Our move from Reno to south Florida was over $7 k.

Enjoy your new home!

Good morning kids. So sorry for the delay Michael and Kat, its been a zoo here trying to get things done in time to be back in Michigan by the 19th for our gig there. Anyhow, the heat pump for the pool is a Pentair, UltraTemp. It does a real nice job. We haven't received an electric bill yet so can't say anything to the efficiency of it yet, but installer claims its the most economical and efficient, we hope he's right. Hope this gives you an idea, and again so sorry it was so delayed getting to you. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
