2011-2016 Ford 6.7 Fuel Filters

Just an FYI: if you're paying a dealer a few hundred $$$ to change your filters, I just did mine for the first time in about 20 minutes. Requires a 32mm socket and the '16 has a guard you loosen and swing out of the way. Top filter requires no tools. Filter kit from Ford is $100 which includes both filters and a new o-ring. I think you can get the kit online for around $50-60.

I buy my fuel filter kits at Rockauto. There are several good videos on line which provide step by step instructions on how to replace. Not hard at all. Engine compartment filter is a replacement canister and under the frame is an old fashioned filter (not spin on.

I order mine from Amazon. Authentic Motorcraft for about $56 is memory serves me.

I am having trouble getting the filter in the engine compartment out. The You tube video shows on thing, loosen the bolt that tightens it in then remove filter. Mine doesn't have that, seems to have a tab on the bottom of the filter and you turn it to unlock, I just can't seem to be able to get it. Any help

if you don't have a 7m nut to loosen, then you have a lock tab setup instead. After you pull both fuel lines, try turning a quarter turn counterclockwise. That should unlock. And you pull straight up to remove. You will see the tab configuration. With the replacement , turn a quarter turn clockwise to lock.
