Hitch Settings

As you can see from my profile, I have a new 2015 Silverado with a B&W Companion hitch. I have not had a chance to connect them yet due to bad weather to check the bed rail clearances and make adjustments to the hitch. Does anyone have this tow vehicle with this hitch and if so, what hole placement do use use? What is your bed rail clearance? Does the camper ride level with these settings?

I went from a 2006 Silverado to a 2012. Bed rails were 1 or 1 1/2 inch higher. Also, bed was an inch or so higher from the ground. So I run nose high a little now but doesn't seem to bother. On my Superglide I had to get extra rails to raise the hitch about 3 inches to gain clearance because I was at the high point on the hitch mounting holes in the trailer.
So I would just hook it up and see how much clearance you have and adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the reply. Planning on it as soon as the weather warms up. It was 13 degrees here this morning.

Twindman posted some good advice. A look at my signature shows my setup. I too ride a little bit nose high but it doesn't seem to affect the tow, hook up or handling. Love the B&W Companion!

I use the B&W companion on a F250 SB 4x4 pulling a 2016 3000RE. I set the arms on the hitch as far rearward as they will go and as low as they will go. That gives me an 8" bed rail clearance and the trailer is about 2" nose high. I have room to lower the pin height on the trailer but that makes the trailer nose low and only 5 inches of bed rail clearance, so I run it nose high. The extra bed rail clearance is nice, I have a sharp dip followed by a hill when traversing into my driveway. With the arms all the way rearward I can make a 90 degree turn as long as the trailer isn't overly un-level.
