Batteries

After the 8 year old batteries in the Montana died in the cold night I decided to change out the year 7 year old ones in the truck. After getting that many years of service out of both sets of batteries it was just pushing my luck to get much time out of them.

As soon as our truck was 5yeas old we changed out the batteries for a couple of Optima sealed units. I hate sitting in some spot where my truck will not start..

Still running the stock batteries in our 2007 Chevy. The truck is garaged all the time when not in use.

Wow, best I've done is almost 7 years on several batteries I've owned on several vehicles. 5-6 years is typical. The only time it was less than that was my current truck and the first set of batteries only lasted a little more than 4 years). Fortunately, I've been pretty close to replacements so I've not been too worried. Plus I carry a battery charger so unless the battery is cracked, or broken, a little recharge typically gets things going just enough to get me to replacements.

Be safe and wary!

My camper battery only lasted two years, I kept it on a battery tender during winter months.
