Tell the bird congrats on it's new abode. I am still impressed with the lengths that you have gone to make sure it has good surroundings! Hope you and Helen enjoy it as well.

Congrats Rich and Helen, I'm glad everything worked out with the deal.

Now I pray that the PDI is not a "train wreck" and you have many enjoyable years with the new Montana.

I will say this. I will give a evaluation of this new rig.It will be honest and straightforward. We will report every issue and let the chips fall were they may. After touring the new plant it was my opinion that the opportunity for better quality and quality control was there and we told that to Aram.
We will also E mail Aram of our intentions to evaluate although it will come as no surprise.

After the myriad of problems with your current rig, the odds are with you on the new one.

What I did was to report all the issues we had with the 06 3400 hoping that information would help others. We had three major issues. 'The melt down" at quartzsite. (wire rubbed through, poor workmanship and quaity control) The axle shift. We did not do the required preventitive maint . They have since changed the U bolts. FIVE,count them FIVE leaking holding tanks. (Poor design.) Our graphics held up well but have now started to show peeling and shrinking. The other issues were the issues that we all have and can be self corrected but still IMO were caused due to poor workmanship and quality control a issue that runs across all brand lines.
This 3400 has done @60K mies and has another 60K miles left it it maybe more.

How many miles did you pull the 3400 with your 08 6.4?
Thanks Lynwood

We do not keep a log but the 08 6.4 has 48K miles on it and the 06 3400 was in back of it at least 90% of the time and that is a conservative number. We have only put 800 solo miles on the truck here in Florida in 5 months.

The 6.4 has performed with out a issue. It is a strong truck.
and IMO is not broke in yet.

Noted on the order form and bill of sale that the Montana was sold to Richard J. laScola,Jr. I am Richard J. LaScola,Sr. Notified number one son (jr) that he just purchased a new camper and can I use it. This happens to us all the time.

If I could only do it again, I'd never use Jr. I gave him a business ten years ago and am still getting confusion straightened out.

Hey guys... Just caught up with the forum... Congratulations... I am sure you are going through a lot of excitement... It has already been three years since we moved into our 2010 Hickory addition of the new full body painted version of the Big Sky 340... We are still loving it and hope you have the same results with yours... Sorry we didn't get to see you this winter but we will still be here when you come back in the fall... Good luck.

Bill and Helen

It had to happen.. We have traded this Montana in. We are leaving Florida Friday. The refrigerator stopped working yesterday. Rv Connection will be here this AM. We do have the extended warranty. The fridge has been on for 6 years this month only off when Helen defrost it. It just had to break now... First appliance that has failed in 6 years.Perhaps this was a good time to trade up????

BTW. The build date on this thing was April 18th 2006..6 years tomorrow. Apparently self destruct is also built in as the john stopped holding water today also.
