Fuse Emergency Kit

I read a lot about blown fuses, some of which are not readily available. Has anyone come up with a list of spares to keep for an emergency? TIA

I'm so sorry for posting this.

You need to keep on hand a spare for each one that you are going to blow!!!
See! I told you I was sorry.

Actually, open up the panel where the fuses are and take an inventory, then go out and purchase two of everything. If you blow one, you know you are going to just put another one in and watch it blow. Then you'll trouble shoot to find the problem and have the last spare to put in.

Also, in the compartment is a 30 or 40 amp in-line fuse for the front landing legs. I replaced mine with an equivalent plug in circuit breaker purchased at Auto Zone.

Waynem is correct, look at what you have and then get 2 of each. Or you can buy a pack with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 amp fuses 5 of each for about $15. But you also need to look in that front compartment and see what amp fuse your landing pad uses. The case that the fuse fits in should say on it if its a 30 amp or a 40 amp. The 40 amp is the hard one to find. All the fuses I have seen in my 2955RL are all the standard Blade Fuse, NOT the MINI nor the Mega Blade Fuse.

From my days of being a volunteer fireman and driver I was also the officer that was responsible for maintaining all the emergency lights, sirens, etc. During this period of time I had an inventory of most every amp fuse in the three types available. The glass tube and the small and large spade type as well as 15, 20 and 30 AMP 12V circuit breakers. As this inventory was purchased by me out of my pocket when I left the department I also took this inventory with me. I added this inventory of fusses and circuit breakers to my tool box in the Monty.
Although I have had some good luck in not blowing to many fusses, this inventory has gotten many of my neighboring RVers out of a jam. If you happen to be at a campground or rally where I am also located feel free to see me if you need a fuse.

These are the fuses I have seen in my 2008 340RLQ:
  • 4 amp glass fuse in the Fantastic Fan
  • 15 & 40 amp medium sized bladed fuses in the electrical panel
  • 30 amp mini bladed fuse for the front legs in the front basement
These are all that I have found.

I recently purchased the circuit breaker that resides on the front wall behind the slide pump. Mine quit working. Mine was a 50 amp breaker, purchased a spare as well.

If you drive a GM truck (don't know about Ford or Dodge) buy and extra 40 amp fuse to put under the hood...it powers the cable to the trailer.

Tom is there a fuse number & location under the hood for GM trucks? What does the fuse do? Battery charging and brake & running light?

The fuse in question sends 12v power to the RV via the seven pin connector. Can't tell you exactly where it is, driver's side, in the fuse box mid way between the grill and windshield next to the fender. The fuse is in the upper left corner...I think. Most auto stores carry them, take the good one out and show it to the clerk, that's what I did.

Correct but suggest you first check the fuse for the landing gear. Ours is a 40 amp fuse. It's the standard size two blade fuse. My cousin's new Montana has a 30 amp fuse and it's the mini two bladed fuse. So check it first.
