We've got 2 very spoiled Shih Tzu kids. They travel great and keep each other company. We started off with just the one and she was a problem as a puppy. With both of us working, she got into anything and everything. Shih Tzu's are a compinion breed and need company. We ended up getting another about 4 months later and they both became the best of friends. They play well together, look after each other and get into the same trouble. You can not do something with one that the other is not there also. I've had dogs all my life and these are the best I've had.

With that said - grooming is a must. We keep their hair short so they go to a groomer about every 4-5 weeks. They do tear in the eyes and I am going to try that Angel Tear I read earlier and see how that works. They don't shed.

Good luck on your choice - whatever it may be. Rick

We have a shih tzu...she's awesome, great personality makes a good little companion. As far as food, never, ever table food, we gave her some pieces of rib eye one night and she ended up in the pet hospital for three days becuase she became so sick she dehydrated. $780.00 later we refer to it as the "Mis-steak" the world's most expensive rib eye. But they sure are fun little personable dogs.
