Camping World

Thinking about stopping by the main one in Bowling Green, Kentucky on our way to the Northeast Rally. Who has been there and how does it compare to other Camping Worlds. It is a little out of the way and we were wondering if it would be worth it.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago. It is pretty much the same as the others with the exception that it is not located at a dealership. They do have a clearance section where you may find a bargain on items that are either slightly damaged or "out of the box" type things. They do have a small overnight area accross the street from the store, they have installed 30amp electric hook ups on the guard rail for the overnighters.

All Camping Worlds are vampires, always seem to suck at least $200 out of me each time I pass one

Mudchief, when in Camping World, they sometimes have at the register a form where you can make suggestions for store locations. I made one for the KC area since it is a very long ways to the closest one (OKC, I think) and there are three major interstates crossing in KC. Since you are from the KC area I thought I'd mention this in case you'd like to help the cause....

And we still hope to meet you someday. We were going to do that at the NE Rally but, unfortunately, we had to cancel.

Steve, I will do that. Sorry you can't make the rally. If nothing maybe we will see you in Kansas City sometime.

It is the junkiest, dirtiest, and most unorganized CW we have ever been in. Sailor is right. We got address from phone book but it ended up being the corp offices with no store anywhere near. Definately not worth the hassle. Finally found the store and couldn't belive the condition even on the outside. A bad image for the Home town store.

Dennis, let's make a point to get together this summer, if you are in KC. We'll arrive in Independence (current plans) on June 23rd and depart July 23rd. We have a few commitments but should have plenty of free time. There's several others in the area we'd like to get together with, too.

Enjoy the rally. I sure wish we could make it. If the truck is ready for us and we can get that initial 500 miles on it in time, then we'll try to make at least a couple of days. But I'm not counting on that happening at this point.
