Looking for a nice Campground in Asheville NC
Can anyone recommend a nice campground in the asheville NC area, I am planning on a vacation there in September.

I cannot be of much help if you are looking for RV parks, but if you want to go the National Forest route—read that as no water and electricity at your site—you can try Lake Powhatan which is pretty close, or if you want to go about 35 miles from Asheville, to Brevard, you can try Davidson River.

We too are planning to go to the Asheville area in October to see the leaves change & play a few rounds of golf. Looking for a first class RV park with pull thru 50 amp svc & cable. We don't rough-it well!

We stayed in Asheville a couple of years back, can not remember the name of the CG but it was across the street from one of the best Bar-b-Que places I ever been to by the name of Bono's. It is a chain that is located mainly in Florida. If you are looking for a good place to eat, I highly recommend this one. As far as the CG, sites were rather small and hard to get into, no pull thru's. The address for Bono's is 1360 Tunnel Road/Highway 70E.

We have been there several times and they do have 50amp and cable TV. It is family owned, there is no swimming pool, or play area for young children. You will not be disapointed.
