Bent Shock

Today while replacing my worn shackels I found I had a bent shock. Thought No big deal just go down to the local auto parts store and pick up a set. WRONG they told me I could only get them thru a RV dealer, so went their and after about an hour of phone calls was told that they were not stocked by anyone and they would have to order from the manufacturer. So in about two weeks should reseive two sets from Monroe for about 138 bucks. I dont have a clue what I have coming in the mail. I took the bent shock to the dealer (Which was made in China) and told him I wanted something better, think I'm getting Monroe part number 31069. Is this what I want and need or does somebody have a better solution??? I do have them on order but told them that if they were not what I wanted that I would not accept them. I have a 2003 Big Sky 3280 RL.

By the way, I like many have stated before me, CHECK YOUR SPRING SHACKES. I could not see any damage until I removed them, they were egged shaped, and ready to cause major damage.

Monroe makes a shock that works on RV's. My local parts house told me no way but I gave him the part number and he was able to order it. Monroe Gas-Magnum RV shock absorbers. Monroe has a web page to help you select the correct ones for your trailer. My trailer uses 4 part# 555001 shocks.

This page gets to the alko/kober trailer axle;

This page is the list of applications for RV;
