Generator not needed...can I change out?

I can't imagine that DW and I would ever be boondocking and we do not have a generator. However, our trailer came prepped with all of the necessary duct work and metal inside the front compartment. Is it possible to get all of that out of there and have that area as a water tight compartment? I know I can see through the bottom of the metal flooring and see the pavement so I'm limited to what I can keep in there now.

Hi

Wal-Mart sells large plastic containers with wheels on one end. You can put 2 of them in that compartment and still have room on top of them for light stuff like doormats etc.

I took that metal shroud out, built shelves, works well. Haven't really noticed it getting wet in there, even after driving in the rain or on a wet road.

I use that area for dirty things like the BBQ, extra blocks, and my axes etc. It helps to keep the other storage areas clean.

You can also use the cable that would hook to the generator to install a 30amp inlet on the front of your Monty, since the transfer switch is already installed.

My DW wishes our trailer was prepped for a generator. I've yet to understand why, but I guess she is planning on some boondocking.

I also use the Gen. box for storage, when we need Gen. just sit it in truck, and go. The 30Amp. hookup nis great suggestion, will do one slow day.
