Hydraulic Slideout System

When the slides on my 2008 Monty 3075 are out, the Nylock Nut on the hydrolic actuator rod has about a one inch space between it and the bracket. The jam nuts on the back side are snug up to the bracket. I questioned a guy at the dealer and he said this was normal, however, the pictures in the Lippert Manual show this Nylock nut to be snug against the bracket. Do I need to tighten the nut down? If I do will it change the adjustment on my slides when they are in the "IN" position? Thanks for any info!!
