FullTime RV Life

My wife and I decided to unload the oversized, high maintenance, increasing becoming unsustainable family home five years ago. Had a well system installed, installed a septic system, power installed to a pole and poured a concrete pad on my family farm in the middle of a hay field. We bought a new 2015 3611RL and towing it with a F350; the first year was a learning curve. A number of component failures. You full timers know the story, you cant leave the unit at the dealer for weeks for repair so all troubleshooting, isolating problems and repairs were done on my own. All the venders are very understanding in parts replacement under warranty.

I suppose I should have become a member when we first bought but oh well anyhow here I am spending winters South of 28N parallel, summers in Western NC, hello everyone.

Welcome to the forum. We are also full timers for 5 years now and love it. My job takes us around the country and now it is Naples Florida full time. We talked about getting a home but the rv life is too good to give up so here we are on our purchased lot and a cargo trailer in the storage yard. Hope you have many good memories and experiences along the way.

Welcome. When we decided to full time, I signed up for a three day course on rv maintenance. Sure glad I did!

We have been on the road since 2006 . We tried full timing the first year and decided it was not the life style for us. We found we could keep the S& B and still travel the country. We call ourselves long timers. Our goals were to see this great country and stay out of cold weather. We have been able to do that.

Welcome to MOC too. We've considered full timing in the future , still slaving away for a while yet.

Welcome to the Forum from Texas. We Love Full Timing Too. Happy and Safe Travels to each and everyone!

Question for those of you that have been full timing the longest...How often do you trade in your Monty and Tow Vehicle? Just wondering. Thanks.

On average five years on the fiver. Tend to keep our trucks longer. Since in our opinion QA/QC has gone down along with overall quality, wish we had kept our 2010 fiver. Having said that, we have been looking at a different SOB.

We are Canadian, sold our house in 2006 and hit the road. We have traveled to so many places in North America we have lost count! This is our 3rd RV at 31.5 feet and I love it. It has been a fabulous time, so many memories and friendships made along the way. Now our wheels are up and we spend our summers at our park on the Ottawa River in the little village of Stonecliffe, Ontario. Our winters will be in North Bay, Ontario, brrrrrr which can reach -30 C and beyond. Guess we will need winter boots...lol! The last 12 years have been totally wonderful and I encourage you to see our beautiful countries. Yes Canada is more expensive but really worth the experience. Take care and drive safely

No maintenance classes. We figured out many of our own problem. However if we got stuck we asked other campers for their input. There are some very smart guys out there who can just about fix anything. Don't be afraid to ask. We all learn by experience. Wishing you all the very best.

I agree Canada is well worth the expense to explore. There's so much to see, do and people to meet. Do it by all means.
