Cricket Air Cards?

This new cell phone company "Cricket" is advertising in the Oklahoma City area. They say unlimited access for just $40.00 per month. My question is who are these Cricket people and how is their service. They just popped up overnight.

If you do a search on my cricket you should get info on the company. I don't have them as a service but they are new to the tradional market such as Verizon, ATT, etc. and appear cheaper. Not sure of their performance as I don't have them.

Look at their coverage map
http://www.mycricket.com/cricketcoveragemaps/
It looks to be very spotty right now.
Also when you look at the details, the coverage area does not say national, but "Local Areas"
http://www.mycricket.com/cricketplans/details/broadband
And as for unlimited, over 5GB per month they can reduce your speed
"Throughput may be limited if use exceeds 5GB per month. "

Compare Compare, Compare, then decide.

I am sticking with my U.S. Cellular. I was just curious if anyone had tried this new air-card service. I will pay an extra 20 bucks a month because I know my service will work anywhere I travel.

We started in 2003 with the Verizon AirCard and were very pleased with it. We now have the newer USB card and are even happier with it's connection capability. There were very very few places we have been across the U.S. that we were unable to get a connection. The Rockie's was one such place but there were no signals for any cell phone, air card or satillite regardless of carrier.
When we got our first AirCard we were considered "Guinea Pigs" and we worked thru that. This new Cricket Air Card could become as good as and maybe even better than anything on the market right now but I have done the Guinea Pig thing once and don't care to start all over. Even at $20. a month savings it just ain't worth it.
