JONES RV PARK, NORCROSS, GA

Folks, we'll be heading toward Atlanta in late March and have been looking for campgrounds. Found Jones RV Park in Trailer Life and it sounds okay and has a nice website. Anyone ever stay here or know anything about this place? Other places seem quite expensive and/or have terrible write-ups on RV Park Review. We're looking for a homebase to explore downtown Atlanta and to take in some Braves games. Thanks!

We stayed there one night on July 4, 2007. We had arranged to stay in the "sign in" area as the office was closed. Lot's of long timers there. We walked through the short term area. Our opion is that it is a place to put your rig with hook-ups while you explore Atlanta, nothing else.

Good Luck.

CanDo, I don't know anything about that park, but if you don't feel comfortable about it look into McKinney campground. It is a Corps of Engineers park on Lake Allatoona, about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta. You can get a water & electric site right on the lake for $22 ($11 if you have the Golden Age card). We stay there often and really like it.

We usually stay out at Stone Mountain Park. Some of the sites are not level and require a good bit of adjustment, but we like the woodland/lakeside atmosphere.

Several years ago we found Stone Mountain full and stayed at Jones RV Park (We have friends in that sector of greater Atlanta). As David and Jo-Anna said there is a large section for permanent or "long timers" and we too walked through that section. We agree with their evaluation. We would probably stay there again if Stone Mountain were not available.
