Smart Kitty

Much to our dismay, my DW and I came inside the Tana, after basking in the sun, to find the kitchen faucet running, and coffee cups floating on the kitchen counter, besides the trashcan with about 25 gallons of water. I quickly went outside and openned the galley tank value to drain the overflowing tank, after shutting off the kitchen water faucet of course. We cleaned up the mess and started pondering who had left the water faucet on.

After a bit, one of our cats jumped up on the sink, put her head under the faucet handle, and pushed up a couple of times with her head, and proceeded to get a drink. (This should not have surprised us because she has spent hours watching us getting water from the bathroom sink.)

Fortunely, the solution is simple, no guys not to flush the cat down the drain, we just put a short elastic band around the faucet and the handle, and she is now out of luck.

Life is always interesting in an rv.

A grand story - I couldn't stop laughing and hoping our kitties don't decide to do the same!

Safe travels.

Great story

We have two new kittens. When they were 8 weeks old we took a two week trip. Everything went great. Next week we are going on a short 3 night outing. They are now 3 months old and we cannot keep them on the farm once they have seen Pariee. That means cannot keep them in the house after they found the woods we live in. It will be interesting.

Maybe turn water off outside.

Bob our cats always wanted to drink out of the faucets, so we solved (we hope) that problem went to Pet Smart, found a water bowl that has a little pump inside and the water comes out like a water fall . really neat the cats love it and now they dont go jumping on the counters as much.

Tom and Nancy thanks for the info, will give it a try. The other cat likes to fill the water dish with her toys which really drives the dog nuts. Hope to see all you folks on the road. Ozz, read the thread on your shaving your kitty, sounds like a great idea for our longhaired Taffy. Today it is suppose to be a 105 in sunny Montana, so maybe the time has come. Take care all.

Always had bottled water for our late kitty. Every time I let her out she went straight to a bucket of water that I held my dish down with. Water was dirty with leaves and whatever fell in it.

We have some family in Jamestown,TN. I think they could add some some copper tubing to that device and make some "recipe" for your kitty.

We laughed about your smart kitty. Enjoyed it!
That water dish sounds great but our cat would probably be afraid of it. Anything to do with water and he is scared.

well, Dusty, Don, you can always use the water dish as a little indoor waterfall, lol! when we first got it I was sitting in my recliner bout half asleep (Nancy had worked me so hard that day!) and I kinda awaken, thinking it was raining. sure relaxes you so it does double duty.
