I was told not to seal the edges up that the heat needed to escape or you will get back pressure and no heat would go in the basement.any one heard this?

Bob, you are right. If the bottom is sealed tight then no air will flow through the duct going to the belly.

I am having a hard time believing that the basement is airtight other than the bottom. With plumbing holes, wiring holes, laundry chute, basement doors, etc. etc. etc. my mind cannot justify that the pressure is solely released through the bottom of the unit. I knew the Montanas were built well though!!!!! As always, this is my opinion only as I have been proven wrong many times before (DW will attest to that!!!).
