Usery Mountain Park-Mesa AZ

We spent last weekend up at Usery Mountain Park just north of Mesa AZ. For all of the winter visitors in the area, this is a great park for weekend camping, plus day hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking...whatever your pleasure. It's an easy drive right up Ellsworth Rd. from US 60 in east Mesa. The campground sites are decent size with good space between them. Each one has a concrete picnic table and fire ring. There is electric and water hookup at each site but no sewer. The campground does have a dump station you can use for free if you are staying there. Of course when we were there we were experiencing the coldest weather we have seen in the AZ desert in years. It got down to 19 one night but the Mountaineer did fine. On Saturday evening right at sunset, there was a break in the cloud cover and the sun bathed the park in a warm glow. I went running for the camera and got a few shots of our beautiful desert in the winter. Enjoy!

What beautiful pictures! I looked up the website for this campground and added it to our list of "must visits" once we start full-timing this summer. Thanks!

This is one of our favorite Arizona CGs. We have been there in late winter and in mid summer. I would not recommend it for the summer! Of course it was one of the hottest summers on record. But what are you going to do when your first grandchild is born?!

I have a few pictures posted at our PictureTrail site of the CG. They are not nearly as nice as the ones posted by AZCampinfool but show some detail of the CG.

This is a nice CG and we stay there every chance we get.
