For now but somewhere that wire has a problem or how it was connected and when the slide moves or a bump in the road causes it to either rub on what it was or open up the broken part of this wire it will probally come back.

Most likely, they disconnected a poorly made connection and when they put things back together again, the connection was assembled correctly or at least better than it was originally put together, and he may never have the issue again. Keeping fingers crossed

I Just got back from a 12 week trip, traveled west to new mexico and north up to Jasper national park.
I am happy to report that i never had any electrical issues.
