Came from an Open Range TT with 3 slides of the Accu-Slide system. Always carried a spare cable kit. Check the BAL website for many videos on repair and maintenance. Frayed cables are an alignment issue and an ez fix.

I had a problem with my cable slide on my 3720 finally got a mobile tec to look at it turn out the gear box is going out causing the slide to jump when going in and out. I dont like cable slides had them on my high country before we upgrade. Hopefully it will last till i get home so i can replace gear box.

So, I understand the cordless drill/flexible adapter tool....On our High Country I would either have to literally rip the entire trim wood off or try to drill a large enough holethru it to pass the tool thru...
What have you guys done????

Dealer installed a new and "updated motor/gear box" and adjusted cable for us this last week. Works fine now, I just don't like the cable driven slides at all!

If your cables are getting frayed I suspect they have jumped out of the guide wheels of at least one or two, they are on all 4 corners of the slide.
These cable systems have been around for years, they are proven technology, they are cheaper but they are also way cheaper to fix.
As the service tech told me, he would take them over the others anyday....

Our HC has 4 slides, each with 4 cables. They do need regular inspection and an occasional adjustment which is relatively easily done with 3 tools - a 3/8, a 7/16 and a medium size Crescent wrench. The BAL instructions are on line and tell you how to do the adjustments as well as replace frayed or broken cables. There are also several You Tube videos that are even better.
You do not need a $35 ferrule crush tool when you replace cables. A 2 buck cable clamp will also work. I keep two spare cables which are leftovers from our last 5er that had only a BR cable slide though two LCI rack and pinion slides.. Now, if you want to discuss a PITA slide system, that LCI was nasty

One thing I neglected to note. Actually three or four!
If the slide rattles, squeaks, creaks, binds, drags or clatters, it needs to be adjusted.
- The BAL instructions are a guide as sometimes the cables just wont be 'right' according to their pull and deflection tests
- Sometimes you may run out of turnbuckle adjustment. You then need to loosen both cables at the adjuster bar completely and move a chain link on the sprocket
- Plan at least an hour for the first time. After that you will be fully trained and then it will only take a few minutes.
Easy job but can be frustrating the first couple times. A small adjustment on a cable nut may (or may not) make a big change in cable droop or tightness.
Enjoy
