Nehalem Bay State Park, OR
We are hosting here for the month of May. Turns out that 4 of the 6 hosts in the park are in Montanas. It's a nice park in a really beautiful area. If anyone is in the area, stop by and say hello. We're in site B-1.

Oh no, we went by there yesterday and almost stopped. Instead, we went up the road to a KOA in Astoria that is one big rip-off. What a shame.

Helen, sorry I didn't post it earlier. It would have been nice to meet you. Maybe somewhere down the road.

BobGay,
After the Shasta Rally we're headed up the OR coast. If things work out we'll certainly try to come by and spend a night or so at your park. I assume since there are several Montanas there that it is plenty big for our rigs. Will we need to have reservations?
We're looking forward to once again visiting this wonderful area. I trust you are enjoying your stay.
Hope to see you soon.

Dennis, if you are headed up the Oregon coast, try Oceanside RV Park in Charleston instead of Sunset Bay this time if you are stopping in that area. It is just a few hundred feet to the beach and it is a better beach than the one at Sunset, but both are great parks. Oceanside is one of the few private parks I recommend on the Oregon coast.

Sunset Beach State Park was okay but I agree that given the choice I would prefer Oceanside RV park. The park was open and bright where the state park was dark and damp. Of course, everything was wet on the Oregon Coast in mid March!

Yes, the park can handle your rig. There are plenty of spaces available now, but I am told it really picks up starting Memorial Day. I would advise reservations after that. Our tour is just for the month of May, so we may be gone by the time you arrive, but check to see if there is still a Monty in space B-1. If so, do come and bang on the door.

We are going to be there for a week starting June 11. Will look up your site.
It is a great area - we alays go to the Oregon Coast once a year from BC.

Sorry we won't be here to meet you, but we are only here through the end of May. Hope you have a great stay here. I see in your profile that you are a golfer. You should try the little course here in Manzanita. It's very nice and reasonably priced.

We have tried it - a great little course. Also Manzanita for anyone traveling that way is one of the neatest little towns on the coast. It is quite eclectic and hasn't really been discovered and commercialized like Cannon Beach, a few miles up the road.
Spring and Fall are definitely the best times to visit.
