Punch, slushies & smoothies

Ok, summer is coming. Well, so the rumor goes...

I love punch and all those yummy party drinks. I am looking recipes that don't require gallons and gallons of stuff. Enough for 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon for the frig is great. My favorite smoothy is the Banana Berry Smoothy from Benihana. Does anyone have a recipe remotely close?

Thanks for the recipes y'all. This is fun! Now all I need is to pull out the lawn chairs, grab the shades, put on my hat, gloves, parka, scarf, long underwear, double socks, arctic boots and grab a refreshing drink to soak in the sun!!

Yup! I planned on climbing to the top of the snow berm beside the rig and plopping myself there. I have discovered the getting up the berm isn't the problem. It's that downward fall that I hate!!!
Of course, I could just climb the ladder on the back of the rig and jump to the berm. Still have the getting back down issue!

Tammy,

I can come to your rescue on this one!!!
I own a Vita-Mix blender and those folks have some wonderful, small quantity beverages that you whirl up in a few minutes. If you want larger quantities... just double the recipe (or more).

Here's one that I've tried and it's very yummy. It only makes 1 1/2 cups.

Strawberry Banana Malt

1/2 cup whole frozen unsweetened strawberries
1/8 ripe banana
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tablespoon malted milk powder
1 tablespoon sugar or other sweetener, to taste
1/2 teaspoo lemon juice
1/4 cup ice cubes.

Place all ingredients in container in order listed.
Run on high for 1 minutes or until smooth.

If YOUR blender isn't heavy duty... you might add the ice cubes
after the rest is blended... because this tends to get rather thick
and might bog down the motor.

Are you coming to the fall rally in Goshen?

Uh oh... I just found another berry/banana recipe. I'll post
it separately.

Here's another banana/berry SMOOTHIE.

Berry Delicious Smoothie

1 cup fresh pineapple
1 ripe banana
1 cup frozen strawberries, unsweetened
1/3 cup blueberries, frozen or fresh
1/3 cup cranberries, frozen or fresh
1/2 cup ice.

Pace all ingredients in blender in order listed.
Start blender on low, then increase to high.
Run for 35 seconds or until smooth. Serve immediately.

Again, if you don't have a heavy duty blender... wait on the
ice and blend gently so you don't overheat the motor.

I love this Vita-Mix... it's tough... but it's pricey. It was
a great investment for us because not only can I make drinkable
goodies... but it runs so fast that it makes hot soup and ice milk
and even bread (all except for the cooking part for the bread).

Enjoy! If you want more recipes... try checking out the Vita-Mix
web site since I know they have a load of recipes there.

Good luck!

YUMMYYYYYY! Thank you Helen! I will be trying both in the next few days!

No we won't be making it to Goshen. If we ever attend a rally anywhere in the lower 48 it will be by plane. But just maybe!

Keep those recipes coming!!!
