Hello From Central Illinois

Full timing now for 5 yrs. in two jayco's. Presently seriously looking at Montanas. Wanted to get on here and see how people like them. Had good luck with the Jayco's but like a lot of things on the Montana! I did read about a lot of trouble with holding tank problems has that been fixed??
Seems like a good forum here, hope to get a Montana and get to know a lot of you!
WE summer here in Illinois and winter in South Texas!

We had a Jayco before our first Monte. Now on our second Monte, 3900fb Big Sky. We have never looked back. This forum is one of the greatest assets that an owner has. Info here is excellent. Welcome!

This forum is one of the greatest things about owning a Montana. Best I can tell, quality tends to be an issue with most 5ers, but this forum will provide direction and wisdom if/when you encounter issues. We bought our well-cared-for Montana used, found the forum, and have been extremely satisfied. Most would want a rig newer than ours but this one works for us!

I can just tell ya from my Experience as I have had 3 Monty's a 2004.2012 and a 2015 Legacy all have been good 5er's,I am not brand loyal and almost bought a Jayco Pinnacle but our 2015 Monty we ended up buying just had better quality equipment(bang for the buck) for the same price A.K.A. 12 inch frame,Nice quality Sony-Blu ray surround sound systems and Sony TV on a extendable Mor-ryde mount, Mor-ryde pin box , HUGE Whirlpool convection/Micro,nice central Vac system, 2 15 BTU Whisper ducted A/C etc.. BUT there is nothing wrong with the Jayco Pinnacle's they are nice 5er's and when we buy another 5er in a few years we will look at them again

I don't think you can go wrong buying a Montana and being on this forum. These folks do know what they are talking about. They have helped me many times.

Remember, when you look at problems posted on the forum, this is the place folks come for help with problems. If you look at the number of folks who belong here you'll see that problems are not the norm and if you look at other forums you'll see that all RV's can have problems. We looked at Jayco ourselves and decided on a Montana by looking at the plumbing and electrical and things folks don't normally look at.

Welcome from sunny Colorado. We are also on our third Montana - 2005, 2010, and a 2015. Traded each because of lifestyle changes. The people of the forum have become a large part of our life. Right now we are spending time in Nebraska at a regional rally with old and new friends. Good luck with your choice. Remember, since this is a privately owned forum, you will find many unfiltered topics on quality and issues. Also, solutions, suggestions and offers of assistance. When we have looked at new fifth wheels, no one else offered an MOC equivalent.

Welcome to the MOC. This is our first Montana, in fact, our first 5er. We looked at a LOT of them before choosing the Montana. We bought our 2010 gently used in '13. Fortunately, we found this forum before the fifth wheel. Reading the topics and posts on here helped to convince us to take the leap. There is so much good intel here, and I have been helped countless times in the 3+ years I've been a member. The MOC is an added bonus to owning a Montana. Sure, they have their problems here and there, as all RV's do, but the solutions lie within this awesome forum.

Welcome to the forum and greetings from Kentucky !
I recently have been posting about an issue with the black tank in our camper. However, Any camper out there is subject to some problems. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Montana. We are actually on our second Montana and as mentioned this is the place where people come to sort out their problems and issues. With issues being mentioned on the forum, I would think there is a silent majority out there that also speaks well for the Montana's overall. A lot of issues are not brand specific.

Welcome from our adopted state of Florida! You have come to the right place for information on Montanas. We have only owned two and only full timed for just under 3 years. There are a ton of members on here with much more experience and knowledge about them than us.

We still camp in Peoria for some of the summer to see family. Your area down toward the southern part of Illinois is much nicer!

Thank you all. Had 03 Designer10yrs traded for Eagle Premier, had it 3 yrs now. Montanas looking good. Worst problem on Eagle was had to have front cap repainted in second year. Fading problem
Still concerned about holding tanks though.
Jayco North Points having trouble with failing floor joists with 12Cubic foot fridge. So I know they all have problems.
JandC
We are about 120 miles from you when you are at Peoria. We are in Shelbyville. Spend time on the lake for summer!
thank you all for the welcome! I will be lurking and learning all I can for a bit. ecpect to be ordering a 2017 Montana soon.

Jugerr, last year Montana went to all rotomolded tanks. Time will tell but should be a major improvement. The usual suspects show up in all RV's - Lippert, Dexter, Dometic, etc. I will say two things to watch, choose your dealer wisely and do not leave the dealer with Trailer King/Marathon or similar tires. Sailun's or Goodyear seem to have the best reputation among MOC members. Good luck.
