So I'm walking up the driveway....(UPDATE)
this morning thinking about heading up to the Fancy Gap,VA KOA Sunday morning when SNAP goes the right knee and in a blink I'm on my backside. So the bad news is, had to cancel the camping trip scheduled for this Sunday, but the good news is I got an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who did both my hips for this Monday morning. Maybe Fancy Gap by the end of August.

Ouch! That's definitely a bummer, to say the least. In spite of the unfortunate event I am impressed by your spirited description. Good luck with a prompt recovery!
Take care.

Sounds like a torn meniscus. Hopefully orthopedic surgery will put it right.

Tom,, Hope that is all it is. Too many years of five miles a day in jump boots and the sudden stops when reaching the ground with none to perfect PLFs. Will let you know Monday afternoon. Can't be anything serious, got to link up with the NCFishers at Myrtle Beach in the next couple of months. Tim

Tim,
If it makes you feel any better, I've been living for 20 years without an anterior cruciate ligament in my right knee. I can't run - but I'm too old and too fat to do that anyway!

Tom,
I know where you are coming from. Since having both hips replaced in 2002, running has dropped out of the equation. Walking has been good though. Now I hit the stationary bike, tread mill, elliptical trainer, pump some iron, and swim a half mile twice a week. The swimming I enjoy the most.

Got back from the orthopedic office a while ago and I have to get a total knee replacement. Got the surgery scheduled for 27 August and hope to be out camping in the Monty by the end of September. Tim

First the hips and now the knee! Is it true that if you pay extra, then you can get the bionic one? Back in the day it could cost about $6,000,000. They even made a show about it.
Best wishes for a speedy kneedy recovery.

Thinking back on it, the hips weren't that cheap, but I seem to recall the bionic ones sure worked a lot better. But, the the ones they are putting in today sure beat the alternative. Have a great day, Tim
