New Montana
In about a week we will be picking up our new Montana 2955RL. We currently own a 27' Sunnybrook TT but there are too many problems. We are looking forward to a trip to the Oregon Coast soon. It will be nice not to have to haul the laundry bag from room to room every night before bed.

We also had a 27' TT, believe me, the upgrade to the Montana was fantastic. Also found a few strange events, the 5er pulls easier and we get 3mpg better fuel milage amd its a much bigger unit. Enjoy, you made a great choice.

Congratulations on your new purchase.  We also changed from a 25' TT and are getting more used to the 5er every time out. We had our Prowler TT for 13 years and I could park it just about anywhere. The 5er is a real learning experience when it comes to backing for me but I am getting used to it.

Welcome to the Forum and enjoy that new Monty!
We went from a 30' TT to a 2955RL in 2003. Tow was very different and nice. Hardest part to get used to was how tall it looked, and how tiny my new diesel truck looked when hooked up to it.

Congratulations on your new Montana. We have had our 2955 since the end of May and enjoy it more every time out. I find it easier to tow then our 25 ft TT.

We went from a 32 ft Teton TT to our Montana 5er when we decided to go full time. Great decision. We have oodles more room and the towing is much easier and smoother.

Thanks to you all. I am a retired truck driver so I have some experience with driving a fifth wheel. I am wondering now though is I should be buying a better pin box like the Morryde. I guess I will know after our upcoming trip. Tom

Congratulations on your new Montana. We went from a 30' TT to a 32' MH to a Montana 5er in 2002. We liked it so much that we bought our 2nd Montana last year. Much easier to tow, handle, hook up, etc. We know that you will like this. Please let the forum know how it goes.

So, When we pick up our new Montana next week are there any special questions we should ask about our Montana in particular? We have owned TT's in the past but never a Keystone product. The salesman swears that we don't need a pin box upgrade although I told my DW that by the time we return from the Oregon coast we will know for sure.

Congrats on your new Montana. You will love your new Montana. Hope you have many happy miles. As far as the pin box goes. I haven't noticed any real problem. However, I am a novice to 5th wheels. i am sure someone will come along and let you know. I have put almost 500 miles on the Monty now. I will say to be careful with the rear entry however. I almost sent the leveling board back into the stairs when trying to level. the ground was real soft.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I know you will love it. I just bought a 3500RL 07. I traded in a Citation 5th wheel 31.5 04. It was like going from night to day, the difference in towing, quality and comfort is worth every cent. I'm also brand new to this forum and the MOC. Best of luck.

Tom you might want to go to the MOC Home page and click on "Related Links" Then look for PDI - Pre Delivery Inspection checklist. As I recall, Blue Crick spent maybe an Hour and a half with ours. We were "Rookies" then.(Probably still are) It might help ya with your PDI.

We got our new 2955RL a couple of days ago. We spent most of yesterday sitting in it relaxing in the front yard. This weekend we are off on a local trip with friends then we will be heading for the Oregon coast.

whiptail, I just upgraded to a Mor-Ryde pin box and I notice the difference in about 80% less chucking, (back and forth motion). I would suggest trying it this weekend and then making up your mind. The Mor-ryde will not get ric of it all but it got rid of a lot of it. Others have other fixes for the tow motions, this was mine. Maybe others will chime in on their fixes.....
