Band Aid Fix.... :-D
So how many times... Late at nite ..the wind picks up, just a bit, and you here tap...tap..tap tap. As the vent over the stove on the outside taps back and forth. Just enough to wake you out of that Bliss full nites sleep. After Long hrs of computational math, Months of experiments... and 34 Travel trailers Motor homes and 5th wheels...WA LA the band aid... taking two regular finger sized band aids and attaching to the inside of the flap.... no more late nite tap..tap...tap. + they are thin enough to still latch the cover for transport. Thought I'd share this Multi Million Dollar fix with the rest of my R-Ving Friends. Stay safe... and remember .. shinny side UP.

That is a great idea if you can get to the flap from the inside. In the 340 RLQ, the flap is covered by the microwave/convection. It has a port that fits right into the orifice where the flap is. So I will have to keep looking.

Ah! I just take my hearing aids our when I go to bed. So, I don't hear the Tap..tap tap.
But I do hear, "Honey! What's that noise????"
Thanks for the tip.

Several folks have drilled a small hole in the flap and attached a small wire to it. They drill a hole or run the wire inside and can "close" the flap with the wire. To open it they just loosen the wire.

You can check out "my modifications" as I think I have a picture of adding the wire to the vent cover so it can be opened and closed from inside. Wire goes through the microwave oven and hooks to the vent cover.
Happy camping,
Dick
