Please let us know how you like it. This is the one we are 99% sure we are going to purchase also. Are you going to install it yourself? I sent them a e-mail two days ago about prices and cost of installation. Wondering about shipping costs also.

I've got a brand new one I bought for my 3650, traded the montana but I've still got the pin box, never used. Cost me $70.00 for shipping, Morryde told me to send it back and they would re fund my money.

At the rally in Goshem, the rep told us to mention the seminar at the rally and the installation is free. I am hoping to get one in the future. I was impressed with the presentation and input from those who have one installed.

Hodag and Charlie/Sue

Thanks for the information and shipping costs. I still haven't gotten a reply from them with answers to my questions. The MOC rules again.

We had the Morryde pinbox installed last Nov. It has not taken all of the for and aft jerking out but has reduced it and has softened the bumps.

Larry and Lavonne,
The Moryde Pinbox replaces the fifth wheel hookup pin on your trailer. It is constructed of a plate with a pin and a plate attached to the trailer. These two plates are connected by a rather large piece of rubber. This rubber allows come movement between the plates. This movement provides for some amount of elasticity in the fore aft direction between truck and trailer. This elasticity provides damping of the jerkiness that derives from the elevated hookup position of fifth wheel trailers when uneven road surfaces are encountered.

There are other devices such as the Trail Aire hitch (which I happen to have). In my opinion (I am a graduate control system engineer), the Moryde is a far superior and more elegant solution. It directly addresses the root cause of the problem in a simple, straight forward, and rugged solution. Moreover, it is the cheapest solution around and should be a piece of cake to install. Just make sure you have an adequate torque wrench.

Dave,
We just ordered a new unit with the Trailair pin box on it. Any info on the do's and don't of this system would be appreciated from you since you have had one. We also ordered the Center/point air suspension with it. Can you help with this?

Thanks, Charlie and Sue

Charlie and Sue.
If yours is already installed, the rest is pretty simple. Just make sure it is inflated properly after the trailer is loaded. You will find that you have to raise the trailer a little higher for hook and unhook. This is because you have to take the load off the hitch as well as the truck. On the otherhand, it is less sensitive to the exact height due to the vertical freedom of movement. You will quickly learn the best position.

One other minor irritant. The nozzle on the air hoses at some truck stops are too big to reach the schrader valve on the hitch. This is because the cap on the Montana is in the way. A flexible valve extension (Like the ones used to inflate the inside dually) solves the problem.

DCP.
My prices might be a little out of date but, the Moryde is around 7 or 8 hundred while the Air Ride is more like 9 hundred.

We just got done ordering the pinbox for our 3670 Monty. They did not have any there at that warehouse because they were out being powder coated. I don't know when you talked to him if he gave you the hint for installation but he told us how they do it. He told us to use a hydraulic jack or something like it to spread the brackets that hang down that the pinbox bolts to on the frame of the trailer. Makes installation a little easier he said. Should be the end of next week before we get ours. We're waiting on it so we can leave for Mississippi.

I just got a TrailAir pin box from one of our own MOCers (SixPac) who just recently sold his Montana. I couldn't pass up the price. It's a good sized chunk of steel.

The bottom of the lower jaw is a little rustier than I'd like so I'll paint it before installation. I'm waiting for a little warmer weather before doing so. I'll be very interested to see what difference it makes. I have the PERFECT test track for it.

Rt. 64 south of Savanna Il. It has patches on the patches.

As a road, it blows....
