holding tanks black gray or ....

well I ordered a new gray water holding tank for my Montana.
I will get it installed when I return from the next camping trip and ready for our next trip to Canada in June or July.
here is the web site for the company that sells Montana holding tanks.
if you want to bypass Keystone dealers or distributors.

I am not in need of one (yet). But I am curious as to how you determined the correct tank to order.

Our 2012 3402RL has tanks made by America-Kart, http://www.ameri-kart.com/Home.aspx , and the black and grey tanks are HT543 according to the label. I suppose his tank also had a label indicating brand and model.

this will be my 3rd tank replacement. as for how I ID'ed the tank is, on your tank put on at the factory by a yellow Crayola with the number 294 or 295 which is what my tanks had these numbers on them, I did call the company and he walked me through the choosing process on the web site. don't go by the picture on the web they used the same picture for both of my tanks you must read the specks to the right of the picture, and looking at the small end going to the large or deep end will tell if its a right hand or left hand side discharge.

Bill I put the web site on my post, if it didn't work for you I'm sorry I wouldn't know how to fix that. I do know that the instructions say with the shallow end nearest you and the deep end is away if the tank discharge is on your right its a right hand tank and I don't have to tell you what the other side would be.

I found it here go to holding tanks, I guess the change over from old to new site might have changed it.

well here is what the leak looked like.

not repairable as far as I'm concerned the top was ripped off when the other tank failed and was replaced by the insurance company this should have been done then but I failed to check that tank so I end up eating the repair.
I'm disappointed with the construction of Keystones holding tanks. cheesy tank construction.
all my other holding tanks from my previous RVs had a hard rubber tanks that a gorilla couldn't hurt. I guess that's what happens when you try to keep the weight down on RVs.

Rich that's the vent pipe side that is connected to the top part and the other is the drain I have been wondering about putting a flexible connector in the vent line similar to a no hub connector so that it will moveable instead of ridged. but I need to study it more.
now I have changed all but the fresh water tanks, I hope I don't have as many changes as you.

gray tank

I broke my gray water tank, replaced it also added more support for tank, I used 2" metal straps with rubber guards, also changed the cheap underbelly straps,

a person would think that Keystone would have seen the problem with their tank installation and do what toy did on your last replacement.

I have changed to the flexible connector on our tanks as they failed and were replaced which means we have them on all our tanks except the fresh water tank that has not failed. We have not had a tank failure since. That area is BTW were they all failed.

Just as a note of interest I have replace all three tanks on my 2014 3402RL. I contacted Montana and was informed that they are not aware of any problem with their holding tanks. They stated that only a small number of replacement tanks have ever been ordered. I guess I now know who to believe and who not to believe!!
I am now in the process of purchasing a new fifth that is of better construction, just too many problems to deal with as a full-timer. Adios Montana and Keystone!!
