Quest QR1000 replacement, and 12V Plug
I spent several hours messing with the Quest stereo, and was quite frustrated with the complexity and the poor sound. After reading a few notes on the forum, I ended up replacing the unit with a Koss 650watt system that was under $200 at Sears. I used the subwoofer that came with the new system (better sounding), and replaced the two rear speakers with "in-ceiling" speakers. The sound difference is substantial, and the home theater system is now much easier to use.
I was surprised that my new 3255RL did not have any 12V plug/receptacles. We do several dry-camping trips a year, and to me this is a must for charging cell phones, or a couple spotlights I use. After looking all over the 5th wheel, I found some 12 volt wiring at the bottom of the entertainment center by the winterizing pump. This wiring feeds some of the 12V lights in the upstairs and the storage area. I put the plug itself in the bottom shelf, and it seems to be working great. When I get some time I will add another one upstairs by the tv antenna booster.
Now all I need to do is run separate wires to the same area to connect a 750 watt inverter - then I will be able to run the stereo or tv without running the Honda generator!
